Farming Simulator has never been a massive technical masterpiece, but this is still one of the few full simulators to make the jump over to consoles, and the Switch is a hybrid console at that. I’m impressed that GIANTS has been able to keep the full experience on Switch. It was charming in its own way, but this is the real deal. Prior to this, there’s only been the simplified version on 3DS. I want to emphasize this because the new Switch Edition is the first full-scale Farming Simulator title to come to a Nintendo platform. It features (almost all of the) content from the base game and plays exactly the same way. Why? Not much changed from the Farming Simulator 16 to 17, but Farming Simulator 19 made some important steps forward. While the game was good when it was released, the later versions are more fun. The main shortcoming is that this series has fewer mods available compared to FS. You can breed your animals to improve their quality, and farm locations are available around the world. Pure Farming 18 offers a fresh take on the genre with significant differences. The developers added European sites to the map options along with many other new features. Graphics and controls were improved in Farming Simulator 17 while keeping all the elements of previous games intact. Unfortunately, you need to use a modification to use location outside of the US. In this game, you can also travel by train to new locations. You can also rent equipment to see if it’s worth purchasing. These actions let you purchase new land when you want to expand. Now, you can take care of your neighbor’s land as part of quests. This edition of the FS series added several improvements.
